ANNOUNCING SLOW FLOWERS WORLDWIDE SUMMIT

Slow Flowers Society’s eighth annual conference is designed for attendees around the globe
to be immersed in floral design, flower farming, and sustainability education

January 9-11, 2025

SEATTLE, WA (September 1, 2025) -- Debra Prinzing, founder and creative director of Slow Flowers LLC, announced dates for the 2025 Slow Flowers Worldwide Summit.

“The Slow Flowers Worldwide Summit is our inaugural online conference, inviting attendees engaged in the Slow Flowers Movement to join us from around the globe,” says Prinzing. “There has been widespread international embrace of the Slow Flowers Movement, especially in countries that have seen their flower production move overseas. While the concept of Slow Flowers started right here, the term and philosophy have been adopted and embraced worldwide.”

The Slow Flowers Worldwide Summit builds on the success of the past seven live, in-person conferences, she adds. “This new format is designed both for our members in North America, as well as for international attendees who are bringing local flowers to their communities and who want to connect with professional peers in flower farming, floral design, and sustainability topics.”

The Worldwide Summit will take place over three days early in the New Year – held online January 9-11, 2025. “The dates are timed for floral professionals and flower lovers to fill their toolboxes with skills and techniques, and to uplift their goals and ambitions for the coming season,” Prinzing says.

The program format includes 15 floral education sessions and three round-table panels with international sustainable floral leaders, as well as bonus content from special guest presenters.

“We are excited to go big internationally – making this an inclusive, accessible, and affordable conference, without the added cost of travel and lodging,” Prinzing says. Slow Flowers Society has partnered with The Great Grow Along to produce the Slow Flowers Worldwide Summit. The Great Grow Along is the largest virtual consumer garden show in the world, with an established platform for online gatherings serving horticulture professionals and consumers.

Prinzing debuted the Slow Flowers Summit in 2017 as an in-person complement to other Slow Flowers’ programming. “The Summit is designed for floral professional working in all facets of the floral marketplace – from the seed to the bouquet,” she says. “We are committed to promoting domestic flowers, raising consumer awareness and uniting flower farmers with florists and customers across North America,” she continues. "The Slow Flowers Movement has been emulated around the world – and emerging groups are eager for access to the same innovation, information, and inclusive approaches enjoyed by our members, but specialized for their own markets. The Slow Flowers Worldwide Summit is designed to provide inspiration for flower farmers, floral designers, and flower lovers, wherever they are based.”

Prinzing says the full program and speaker lineup for Slow Flowers Worldwide Summit will be announced on October 1, 2024, with Early Bird Registration opening on October 15, 2024.
